May is Mìos nan Gàidheal | Gaelic Nova Scotia Month, which is a time to celebrate and create awareness of the history, culture, language, contributions, and achievements of Gaels across the province.
This year the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, in partnership with the Office of Gaelic Affairs and the Gaelic Council, is pleased to present a screening of Nova Scotia made Gaelic short films. The films were all produced in communities across the province and screened in the Gaelic filmmaking competition FilmG in Scotland this past winter. Mostly by first-time filmmakers, they cover a variety of subjects and themes, displaying Gaelic as a living language that is an important part of the mosaic of Nova Scotia. We hope you enjoy the screening and warmly invite you to participate in other Mìos nan Gàidheal events.
Please note: the films will play on a video loop without introduction or commentary.
