March Break (March 14 – 22)
Daily: 10 am – 12 noon, 1 pm – 4 pm, Sundays only: 1 pm – 4 pm
Raise the Jolly Roger, weigh anchor and set sail for the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which is hosting pirate themed crafts, games, activities and family fun this March Break! Activities will include historical boardgames and crafts. On weekday afternoons you can experience piracy during the modern age of Virtual Reality! Exciting adventure awaits, so come dressed in your finest pirate, privateer or buccaneer attire! Practice your pirate talk, sharpen your ship skills and join our mighty museum crew for adventures of the sea! All activities are included with regular museum admission.

Before embarking on what will hopefully be a successful and rewarding career as a pirate, you have to learn the ropes. Join the Dread Pirate Hydra for a fun and engaging training camp to see if you have what it takes to wreak havoc on the high seas. Hydra will spin some pirate tall tales, teach you some pirate games and dance moves and lead you in a pirate singalong. She’ll also teach you some pirate lingo so you too can talk like a pirate. Don’t forget that September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. After that, you can continue with your pirate adventures throughout the Museum and back at home.
Halifax Amateur Radio Club (HARC)
10:00am – 4:00pm
Would you like to learn a new language made up of dots and dashes? Until satellites were fired into orbit, we relied on Morse Code to send messages around the world. Volunteers from the Halifax Amateur Radio Club will be here to teach you how to send your own name in Morse Code AND you’ll get a certificate too!

First League Lego Robotic Demonstration
2:30pm – 4:30pm
Join staff from the Nova Scotia Community College for a LEGO Robotics demonstration and learn what makes these little marvels go. Instructors will be demonstrating how to construct and program a LEGO robot using a PC. Visitors will then have an opportunity to assemble, program and test the active movement of their small LEGO robot. Come explore, build and experiment!
