Jay Pilzer brings together song and discussion to illuminate the events, movements, and moments in the remarkable history of Nova Scotia. A history shaped by bravery, nation building, displacement, and destruction, which has made Nova Scotia’s culture so eventful, rich, and in some ways, problematic.
Jay Pilzer holds a Ph.D. in History from Duke University. He taught History for decades and has been a guitar player and songwriter since he was fifteen. He is the author of two books dealing with popular culture and music, and is now working on a third!
As part of our Tuesday community nights at the museum, we offer free admission from 5 pm – 8 pm. We also encourage donations to Feed Nova Scotia to help curb food insecurity in Halifax, together!
