For most of the 20th century and into the 21st century, Titanic has become one of the most recognized names in the world. The story of RMS Titanic has become a brand, in its own right. A brand which represents life, death, love and tragedy. It is a brand that continues to inspire, captivate and touch people’s hearts, the world over.

Joshua Thomson of Saint John, New Brunswick is a lifelong Titanic enthusiast and he found his way to Titanic Society of Atlantic Canada in August 2016. Throughout his time with the TSAC, he has travelled to Halifax for various Titanic-related events and has also hosted fellow board members in his hometown of Saint John. Joshua is an experienced presenter and his latest offering is his first Titanic presentation that will explore his discoveries and adventures from the past few years in Halifax, as well as Saint John and Bocabec, New Brunswick.

Joshua Thomson was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick, having traveled and lived in far off places such as New Zealand and Nunavut. Over the past 10 years, he has become an avid history buff and community advocate in his hometown.

He is currently the Representative for Eastern Canada for CANZUK International; formerly served as Special Projects & Communications Officer of the New Brunswick Historical Society / The Loyalist House; and is a member of the Board of Directors of Titanic Society of Atlantic Canada. He has been very fond of Titanic since he was quite young and this was when he thinks his interest for history first sparked.

Joshua created a short film called The Cigar – A Saint John Family Wartime Story, a Second World War romance about his grandparents. He submitted his film into the 2017 Imperial War Museum’s Short Film Festival in London, England. Out of nearly 700 entrants from around the world, it reached the second round, which was the top 40% assessed. This was Joshua’s first submission of any kind.

Joshua has also presented about his great-grandfather during the First World War, and his unique connection to the White Star Line.

Join us at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic for a Tuesday Night Talk on April 21, 2020 at 7 pm as Joshua takes us on A Titanic – Maritime Journey. Reception with refreshments to follow the presentation. Admission is free of charge. Joshua’s presentation is sponsored by our friends at the Titanic Society of Atlantic Canada.
