Captain Marshall Dunbar, Divisional Master, Maritimes Division, Master Mariners of Canada, will discuss the important role the Merchant Navy (Canadian and Norwegian) played during the Battle of Atlantic. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Captain Dunbar spent 25 years at sea, starting out as deckhand, then worked his way to obtaining a Master Mariners and serving as Captain. His years at seas included working on bulk carriers, dive support ships, cable layers and tankers. He then decided to start working ashore starting with a Canadian energy company and finally with the shipowner providing an auxiliary ship to the Royal Canadian Navy.
