Artist of the Day: Draw What You Sea with Iain Keith Murray

2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

As part of the Museum’s Artist of the Day program Ian Keith Murray will help children create a fun, nautical, and crazy collective mural with the theme “Draw what you SEA.” Iain will also teach children how to make pirate hats from navigational charts. You can find Ian in our Museum courtyard under the pavilion. This is a free family activity that you can take part in anytime between 2:00 and 4:00.

About Iain:

Iain Keith Murray has had a passion for art ever since he was a child. At the age of fourteen, Iain began his art career by drawing portraits in the newly opened Atlantic Superstore and painting murals across the city.

Today, his passion for art, drawing, and mural-making continues. He graduated with a BFA from NSCAD in 2006, and shortly after graduation he started his own business, Imagicon His clients include Dalhousie University, Atlantic Business Magazine, and the Maritime Centre for African Dance. During his spare time, Iain runs art courses for at-risk youth, and he also participates in programs such as Run for the Cure, Creative Nova Scotia, Halifax Canada Games, and many others.
