This August will be the first annual provincial event where Nova Scotia museums will be building Bevin Skiff boats with community groups and youth, simultaneously in three locations!
In addition to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg and The Dory Shop in Shelburne, both provincial museum sites on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, will be involved.
The public are welcome to stop by and watch the build over three days wrapping up with the launching of the boats happening on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2 pm.
Come support this initiative and see boat building up close as we develop this initiative to celebrate community, culture and heritage by showcasing this Nova Scotian tradition.
